GarageBand only supports those MP3 audio files which have a sample rate of 44.1 kilohertz (kHz) and a bit depth of 16 bits. There you must convert the MP3 files to the GarageBand AIFF file format, which is much more compatible.

You can use iTunes to convert any audio to the GarageBand format that is more compatible with AIFF.

Click on Finder to open it in the Mac Dock. Locate the file that you are going to import. When you move the file, click on the track to select it, and it will play on the track or new track in GarageBand. GarageBand is compatible with the following formats: AIFF, CAF, WAV, AAC (except for AAC files that are protected), Apple Lossless, MP3, MIDI.

Why can’t I upload any song from my GarageBand to Soundcloud?

If you are unable to upload your music from your Logic Pro or GarageBand on your Mac or if you have problems uploading the song, you can export it as a file and upload it to SoundCloud. Or, you can upload the song to the SoundCloud website or to the app.
